After more than 30 years on the road, country music legend Alan Jackson has officially performed his final tour stop—marking the end of an era for fans across the world.
The Last Call: One More For The Road Tour began in August 2024, with Jackson performing just one show each month. The slow-paced tour allowed the 66-year-old singer to savor every moment on stage as he revisited cities one last time, surrounded by generations of devoted fans.
His final concert took place on May 17, 2025, in Milwaukee, where he delivered a heartfelt 22-song set before waving goodbye to a roaring, emotional crowd. For added significance, Jackson’s daughters were present—accompanied by his young grandsons, who saw their grandfather perform live for the very first time.
As Jackson exited the stage, he held onto a crew member for balance—a subtle reminder of the personal health challenges that ultimately led to his retirement from touring.
What Health Condition Led Alan Jackson to Stop Touring?
Alan Jackson revealed in 2021 that he has been living with Charcot–Marie–Tooth disease (CMT)—a degenerative nerve disorder that affects balance and muscle strength. Speaking on the TODAY Show, Jackson explained:
“It’s been affecting me for years. And it’s getting more and more obvious. I know I’m stumbling around on stage. And now I’m having a little trouble balancing, even in front of the microphone, and so I just feel very uncomfortable.”
There is no cure for CMT, and the progressive nature of the disease has made touring increasingly difficult for the Country Music Hall of Famer. During recent performances, Jackson relied on a custom-made stand or barstool to support himself while singing.
Though his voice remains iconic, the physical demands of life on the road became too taxing.
Will Alan Jackson Ever Perform Again?
While Jackson made it clear that his touring days are over, he hinted at a possible farewell concert in Nashville—a city that has defined his legacy for decades.
During his final performance in Milwaukee, Jackson addressed the crowd:
“Y’all gonna make me tear up out here. But I will say, this is my last road show out here, but we’re planning on doing a big finale show in Nashville next summer sometime. It just felt like I had to end it all where it all started. And that’s in Nashville, Tenn. Music City.”
Though no date has been officially confirmed, fans are eagerly awaiting what could be Alan Jackson’s final bow on the stage where it all began.
A Legacy That Lives On
Despite stepping away from the touring spotlight, Alan Jackson’s music will continue to resonate with fans of all ages. From “Chattahoochee” to “Remember When”, his catalog remains one of the most beloved in country music history.
His farewell tour served not only as a goodbye—but as a powerful reminder of his enduring influence, his humility, and the deep bond he shares with fans.
